A public statement from the Mosque of Ishbilia in Seville, Spain. Addressed to the Spanish King, no less, saying that they would do all they can to “integrate” and function well within Spanish society?
So the MSM would have us believe, instead, the “president” of this religious community wrote a very interesting letter:
Majestad, en nombre de la Comunidad Islamica Mezquita Ishbilia, y en el mio propio como presidente de la Comunidad,…
Majesty, on behalf of the Islamic Community Ishbilia Mosque, and in my own as president of the Community, I want to express the feelings, which in recent years are becoming more evident, between Spanish Muslims and those who for various reasons live in Spain , of the lack of conciliation between the Crown and the heirs of the Andalusian legacy.
Sir, being king of Spain, I believe that the historical moment has come, to carry out the recognition of guilt of the vileness, plunder, exile and murder, carried out by orders of the Catholic Monarchs and their most direct collaborators, who culminated with the surrender of Grenada and the breach of everything subscribed to the Muslim community.
Being the years after, a constant persecution, for all those who profess our faith, and subsequent generations, there are so many millions of dead and displaced people, who caused such vile acts. There has never been such a fierce persecution and eagerness to eliminate a religious community, such as the one carried out by the old Spanish royalty, in the time of Felipe II, extermination that culminated in the War of the Alpujarras, after the Pragmatic Sanction of 1567.
As a descendant of the aforementioned kings, what a formidable opportunity you would have to demonstrate to the Muslim community, its respect and its discrepancy, with the Islamophobic theses, asking our community for forgiveness, for so many atrocities and interceding for the recognition of the Spanish nationality, of the descendants of Al Andalus, as it was done with the Sephardic Jewish community.
Your Majesty, I hope you become aware of what is written from my modest thinking, expecting a clear response to my demands, for being of justice and reason.
Something that the good “president” left out in his letter is that the Reconquista was a direct response to the Muslim conquest of Iberia, hence the ‘Re’… an odd thing to leave out.
A commentator puts it well:
Germán Junqueras Montalvá: The same thing we could say about the Muslim invasion of Spain.
Shouldn’t you ask for forgiveness for all the massacres committed when you were only asked for help from the Visigoth kingdoms and took advantage of it
Like in the expulsion of Granada?
The same for the battle of Waddi Lakka or the river Guadalete. For that battle you would have to ask for forgiveness.
Not us for recovering and reclaiming something that was already ours.
Don’t you think?
