A bomb exploded this Sunday morning just outside a subway station in Stockholm, injuring a man and a woman. The man in his sixties died later in the hospital because of his heavy wounds.
A speaker of the Stockholm police released a statement on the incident: “There was something on the ground that the man picked up, and then it exploded”. It is still uncertain if the device was a grenade or some improvised explosive.
The Vårby Gård station, where the explosion happened, and the surrounding area, have been closed by the Police and bomb squads are on the case investigating for clues about the culprit and possible other explosives.
This is just the latest bomb/grenade attack in Sweden, the number of this kind of attacks has been increasing in the last years and recently the attackers have gotten braver and even attacked a police station in Helsingborg once.
