At least one person was killed and 3 more were injured after a shooting occurred in the French Eastern city of Strasbourg, near the border with Germany
The local fire department stated that several shots were fired on Tuesday evening in the centre of the city, and witnesses said that the shooting happened near the city’s iconic Christmas market which draws millions of visitors every year.
The local prefecture of Grand Est et du Bas-Rhin tweeted that people should avoid the area near the city’s police headquarters. Strasbourg is not safe.

This attack was already described by the French interior ministry as a “serious security event” and warned the public to stay indoors until further notice.

It’s not the 1st time European Christmas Markets are targeted by radical and violent movements during Christmas season with the 2016 Berlin Christmas Market attack being the most notable example.
