Iraqi Refugee Kills 14 Year Old German Susanna and Flees to Iraq

Ali Bashar, suspected of killing Susanna

One of the two men that is said to have raped and killed 14-year-old Susanna from Mainz, Wiesbaden, who was missing for two weeks, has been arrested on Wednesday.

14-year-old Susanna was reported missing on May 22. She was going out with friends in the Wiesbaden city center and did not return home that evening.

The suspect arrested is a 35-year-old “asylum-seeker” of Turkish nationality. He will be presented to a magistrate on Thursday, however the 20-year-old Iraqi is still on the run and has left the country.

Two men allegedly raped and killed 14-year-old Susanna F. in Wiesbaden. One of the two suspects (a 35-year-old asylum-seeker of Turkish nationality) was arrested on Wednesday, the investigators in Wiesbaden said.

The other suspect, a 20-year-old refugee from Iraq named Ali Bashar, is still on the run and had (reportedly) changed his name to leave the country.

Part of the investigation that has been released, revealed that Bashar was indeed a migrant living in one of Germany’s state funded refugee accommodations.

Wiesbaden’s police chief Stefan Müller said that the family of Bashar – consisting out of his father, mother and six children (including Ali) – was indeed living in a “refugee shelter” in Wiesbaden-Erbenheim and hastily left the country at the end of last week.

Ali Bashar was already known to the police

Ali Bashar, who has already attracted the attention of German police in the past, pushed around and spit on a policewoman in Wiesbaden; subsequently he was taken into custody.

If this wasn’t enough, in April, Bashar, together with an accomplish, robbed a man at knife point.

In other cases Bashar was seen in violent clashes between two groups, but his involvement in said clash couldn’t be proven.

Furthermore, a connection to the alleged rape of an eleven-year-old girl in March, which was reported in May, is being examined.

Wiesbaden police officer Stefan Müller went on to say that “for any of these cases, there wasn’t a ground for detention”.
