Just some days ago we assisted to a new kind of “purge” on Twitter: right-wing personalities getting unverified for ‘wrongthink’. The first victims come from different political positions on the right but all share in common strong views against Islam and the Islamisation of the West. Twitter’s statement on the issue basically implies that the verification is simply no longer something to be used as a method to confirm someone’s identity but rather some kind of endorsement from the website and Twitter would never endorse in any way someone who actively spreads hate right? Wrong.
The Muslim Brotherhood (@Ikhwanweb) has a Twitter account and yes you guessed it right, they are verified. @IslamismMap was one of the first to report on this, highlighting the idiocy behind the new changes. Apparently, people like James Allsup (@realJamesAllsup), Richard Spencer (@RichardBSpencer), Baked Alaska (Suspended without explanation, used to be verified), Tommy Robinson (@TRobinsonNewEra), Wife with a Purpose (@apurposefulwife) and Laura Loomer (@LauraLoomer) are bigger threats and hate preachers than a transnational organisation whose motto is: “Allah is our objective. The Prophet is our leader. The Qur’an is our law. Jihad is our way. Dying in the way of Allah is our highest hope. [Allah is greater!].”

One of the Muslim Brotherhood ideologues, Sayyid Qutb, believed that the world is divided into two spheres: “The Party of Allah and the Party of Satan.” He strongly believed that the Prophet Mohammad would have rejected any secular government not based on the Party of Allah, therefore seeing all non-Muslims as infidels who dared to create human laws instead of respecting Allah’s teachings. Words that truly inspire Jihad which is also suggested by the logo of the organisation which shows 2 crossed swords, a Quran and the word “prepare” in Arabic which suggests a line in the Quran about preparing to go to war.

The Muslim Brotherhood is not internationally recognized as a terrorist organization but they truly act like one and many of their famous supporters were and are well-known terrorists. Osama bin Laden, Khalid Sheik Muhammad and the current leader of Al Qaeda Ayman al-Zawahiri were all members of the Muslim Brotherhood and often quoted from Qutb’s writings. Hamas is the Muslim Brotherhood branch in Palestine, which is probably the cause of the ban on the organization in countries like Russia, Saudi Arabia and Egypt, the country of its foundation.
Twitter is introducing 1984 style features that aim to shut down anyone who defies what the establishment wants us to believe, not a big surprise considering Twitter decided to partner up with the ADL (Anti-Defamation-League) which is an infamous organisation that is pretty open about its views on censoring “hateful” individuals. Remember, if you want to defend your country or you are a simple patriot, according to Twitter you are more hateful and dangerous than a terrorist organisation.
